Isle of Man Registered Tour Guide Blue Badge

Members of the Guild of Manx Registered Tour Guides are fully insured for public liability and adhere to a strict code of conduct.

All of our guides are step-on guides and are happy to join you in your own vehicle, hire car, minibus or coach. Many will also be happy to join you on a journey aboard our Victorian Heritage Railways.

We also have a number of Driver guides, who are licensed to chauffeur you in their own, or a hired, vehicle, whilst many of our guides can also arrange local hire of fully insured vehicles, including coaches, with drivers.

A number of our guides also offer a variety of walking tours in our Manx towns and villages, or more strenuous countryside hiking or cycling tours.

Many guides also offer specialist themed talks and tours at your request and tour planning services can also be provided.

WHERE are WE?

A hidden gem, set in the heart of the Irish Sea, the Isle of Man is a remarkable setting that can cater for all tastes. A UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, with a history and a folklore that spans over 10,000 years, its dramatic landscapes and rich coastal walks provide the ideal backdrop to a visit built around you.

To the south lie the traditions of the old village of Cregneash and the spectacular views across the Sound and the southern peninsula. Then there is Castle Rushen, one of the finest medieval fortresses in Europe which, along with the Old House of Keys and the Maritime Museum, provides the old capital of Castletown with an enviable collection of historic treasures. To the west lie the mystical ruins of Peel Castle and the wonders of the House of Mannanan, whilst the northern plains play host to the town of Ramsey, as well as the Point of Ayre, with its impressive lighthouse, migrating birds and basking seals.

The eastern side of the Island is home to the capital city of Douglas, where you will find the excellent Manx Museum and the official residence of the island’s ruling Tynwald, the oldest continuous parliament in the world. Whilst further along the coast we can also find the magnificent setting of the Great Laxey Wheel, one of the island’s most iconic heritage sites. The high point of any journey around the Island though is the summit of Snaefell (Snow Mountain) where, on a clear day, 7 Kingdoms await you, along with views out across the famous Isle of Man TT Course.
